The time for change is here.
Do you want to change the world? Don’t know where to start? It starts with you. Do you know what’s going on in politics? Did you know that the midterm elections
are happening on November 6th, 2018? Do you want to see change in the world? You know, voting is a powerful way to influence change. This November, do you know who will you vote for? One-third of all of the Senators, all 435 members
of the House of Representatives, many state officials, and many local officials. Why do you go to the polls? To pick a candidate that best
fits you and your political views. See many politicians that you don’t like? Does that mean you shouldn’t vote? No. Vote. Because voting protects you
and your beliefs and values. We, the Deaf community must
get involved with the voting process. If we don’t get involved, people who are not Deaf
will pick candidates that may not fit our community. Consider your values, what is important to you? Civil Rights? ASL? 911 access? Jobs? Education? Early childhood language acquisition? Captioning? Telecommunications? Something else? This year, I’m asking you to speak up,
And share your reason for voting. Use the #WhyIVote hashtag. You can post on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. People are sharing their story — why they’re voting. Share YOUR story to the world. And, don’t forget, go vote on November 6th!
